La Pleasure Beach is expected to resume operations within three weeks following the demolition of structures at the facility.
The management of the beach says restoration work will begin once the debris from the demolition exercise is cleared.
Communications Director of La Pleasure Beach, Abdul Rahman Ashittey, said management expects the cleanup to be completed this week.
He explained that temporary booths and toilet facilities will then be installed to allow the beach to reopen.
According to him, the reopening could happen within three weeks if the debris is cleared as planned and the necessary facilities are restored.
The demolition took place on Friday, October 2, 2026, with National Security personnel supervising the exercise.
Several structures and businesses operating at the beach were affected by the demolition. The exercise followed a request from Labadi Beach Hotel concerning structures along its beachfront.
Ashittey said management has also engaged vendors on the need to avoid putting up permanent structures when activities resume.
He added that discussions have been held with relevant authorities, including the National Security Coordinator, the Regional Minister, the Local Government Minister and the Chief of La.
Management is therefore hopeful that the necessary work will be completed quickly so that La Pleasure Beach can return to normal operations.
“The beach will continue from there,” Ashittey said, indicating that management expects the facility to come back into operation within the stated period.
