Ghana is preparing to welcome automotive businesses, car dealers and industry players from November 24 to 28, 2026, for the inaugural Ghana International Auto Trade Fair and Exhibition (GATFE 2026).
The five day event will take place at Black Star Square in Accra, from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily. Resonate Ghana is organising the fair in partnership with the Office of the Diaspora Affairs and Black Star Experience at the Presidency. According to the organisers, the event aims to bring together businesses and professionals across the automotive industry.
GATFE 2026 is expected to feature more than 300 automotive brands, manufacturers, dealers, spare parts suppliers and financial institutions. This could create opportunities for businesses to meet potential partners, explore products and connect with customers. For car buyers and mechanics, the exhibition may also offer a chance to discover new vehicles, compare available options and learn about developments in the industry.
One major attraction will be the Electric Mobility Pavilion, which will focus on electric vehicles, charging technology and solutions for businesses looking to switch their fleets to electric power. As interest in alternative transport options grows, the exhibition could help Ghanaians understand the technology and services available. After all, buying an electric vehicle is one thing, but knowing where to charge and maintain it is another matter.
Car Auctions, Skills Training and Industry Talks
The programme is also expected to include live car auctions, practical mechanical diagnostic demonstrations, skills training and discussions on automotive industry policies. Organisers have linked some of the planned discussions to the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which aims to promote trade among African countries. These activities could provide useful opportunities for mechanics, automotive entrepreneurs and other professionals to learn and build business connections.
The success of the event will depend on the participation of businesses, the quality of the exhibitions and the opportunities available to visitors. However, bringing different parts of the automotive industry together in one location could help strengthen Ghana’s position as a meeting point for automotive trade in West Africa.
