My brother, technology moves very fast these days, but the latest news from Washington is something else entirely. US President Donald Trump sat down with top tech chiefs at the White House and dropped a massive policy shift.
He officially stated that artificial intelligence should no longer bear that old name. Instead, the government and major technology corporations will now call it super intelligence, or simply SI.
According to official White House briefings, the administration signed an executive order to replace the old terminology across all federal operations. President Trump argued that the phrase artificial intelligence sounds fake or limited, whereas super intelligence captures the true power of these systems. Big tech bosses including Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg, and OpenAI leader Greg Brockman backed this new direction.
Aside from changing names, these tech giants also signed the White House Accord on Super Intelligence. This voluntary safety agreement introduces four layers of rigorous internal and external audits. Companies must now monitor their systems closely for cybersecurity threats and ensure proper board-level oversight. Elon Musk also joined the event, telling reporters that advanced technology could eventually bring an age of high incomes and better healthcare for everyone.
Critics are already arguing that renaming the technology might exaggerate what current models can actually do. Some experts believe true super intelligence is still far away, making the new label a bit misleading for ordinary citizens. Even with these debates, the United States government is pushing full speed ahead with the new nomenclature in all official documents.
