International Peace Day: World Media Organization Chief Urges an End to Conflict

21 st Sep 2026 – On the occasion of International Peace Day, Gautam Karve, Editor-in-Chief of the World
Media Organization, has called upon nations around the world to work toward ending conflicts and
promoting peace.

No one benefits from war; instead, the entire world suffers. Conflicts lead to the loss of innocent lives,
displacement of communities, economic uncertainty, and rising prices of essential commodities. The
consequences of war are felt not only by the countries directly involved but also by people across the world.

I urge all nations to convey a strong message of peace to their friendly and neighbouring countries and to
support dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful solutions to conflicts.

On this International Peace Day, let us remember that peace is a shared responsibility. The world needs
cooperation, understanding, and dialogue-not war. Every effort toward peace can help build a safer and more
secure future for generations to come.

Peace is not the responsibility of one country alone. It is a shared responsibility of the international
community. On this International Peace Day, let us strengthen our commitment to dialogue, cooperation,
humanity, and a peaceful world.
