Drama recently rocked the Western North Regional elections of the New Patriotic Party. Provisional results strongly tipped Pious Vincent Abekah as the winner of the hotly contested chairmanship race. Supporters expected joyful celebrations after the announcement rolled across the grounds.
Instead of jubilation, sharp disagreements erupted right at the main collation centre over the figures. Tension rose quickly as rival factions started arguing fiercely about the integrity of the process. Cooler heads struggled to contain the rising anger before things escalated out of hand.
Security personnel acted swiftly to restore order by taking total control of the disputed chairmanship ballot box. Police officers safely transported the container to a nearby police station located at Dwenase Market. This smart intervention protected election materials from total destruction.
The ballot box remains safely locked away at the station as authorities plan for a possible recount. Party leaders and election officers must work together to resolve the impasse peacefully. Calm leadership will ensure that the final outcome reflects the true will of the delegates.
