Tragedy struck along the Assin Fosu highway when two vehicles collided head on during a fateful journey. Joy News reports that the violent crash instantly claimed two precious lives on the spot. Seven other passengers sustained various degrees of injury and rushed quickly to the hospital for urgent medical attention.
Reckless overtaking continues to turn major Ghanaian highways into avoidable death traps every single week. Drivers must exercise extreme patience behind the steering wheel instead of rushing like formula one racers just to avoid crash . Speed limits exist for genuine safety reasons and ignoring them only brings deep sorrow to innocent families.
Transport unions and road safety authorities need to step up sensitization campaigns across major lorry stations immediately. Passengers also possess the absolute right to speak up boldly whenever a driver decides to fly on the tarmac. Preserving human lives matters far more than arriving at any destination a few minutes early.
