Vincent Ekow Assafuah, a prominent member of Parliament’s Youth and Sports Committee, has launched a blistering critique against Kurt Okraku. The Old Tafo lawmaker declared the current FA boss as the worst-performing leader in Ghana Football Association history.

Speaking in an interview on Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM, the legislator expressed deep worries over the declining state of local football. He noted that poor administrative choices and autocratic tendencies continue to destroy the nation’s favorite sport.

Assafuah clarified that he holds no personal grudge against Kurt Okraku as an individual. However, he insisted that the GFA chief’s management style lacks vision, causing severe damage to national teams and domestic league standards.

The lawmaker stressed that decisions governing local matches occur behind closed doors without transparency. He questioned why league games continue on substandard, waterlogged pitches across the country whenever heavy rains fall.

The Old Tafo MP expressed strong disappointment with how the current GFA administration handles public feedback. He revealed that whenever citizens or experts ask critical questions, Okraku’s allies quickly attack and insult commentators online.

Assafuah reminded the GFA executive council that football belongs to the entire country, not any individual family. He advised the FA leadership to welcome open scrutiny and fix systemic issues rather than fighting passionate stakeholders.

Assafuah’s harsh verdict follows similar concerns raised recently by Manhyia South MP Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah. Both lawmakers agree that state intervention might become necessary to restore proper governance, fairness, and accountability within national sports.

As public frustration grows over the state of Ghanaian football, pressure builds on the GFA to show real reform. Millions of sports lovers across the country want transparency, better infrastructure, and capable management heading forward.
