The official amnesty timeline will run strictly from June 1 to July 31 2026. This policy waiver completely removes all heavy financial penalties that customs officers would normally impose if they impounded the vehicle. However, vehicle owners must act quickly. The GRA issued a stern warning that once the July 31 deadline expires, the Customs Division will launch a massive, unannounced nationwide inspection exercise targeting vehicles on all major public roads.

Any uncustomed vehicle intercepted during the active roadside operation will be instantly impounded. This aggressive enforcement drive forms part of broader state measures to maximize national revenue mobilization, protect local borders, and systematically curb smuggling syndicates.
