Radio presenter Blakk Rasta has dropped a massive reveal about Dancehall star Stonebwoy. He claims the artiste spends over $250,000 out of his own pocket to organize every edition of his annual Bhimfest concert without major corporate sponsorship.
Putting together a massive stadium show in Ghana is no cheap joke. Renting the Accra Sports Stadium alone costs a fortune, before you even calculate stage setup, sound equipment, security, lighting, and paying guest artistes.
Blakk Rasta noted that corporate brands in Ghana often hesitate to sponsor big music concerts fully. This situation forces top-tier artistes like Stonebwoy to fund these huge cultural events directly from their personal business revenue and international tour earnings.
Industry analysts continuously emphasize that organizing large-scale concerts without corporate backings poses severe financial risks for musicians. When ticket sales fall short or unexpected logistical issues pop up, the artiste bears the entire loss alone.
Despite these massive financial hurdles, Bhimfest continues to draw over 40,000 music lovers annually. Stonebwoy’s dedication to keeping the event alive proves his commitment to delivering high-quality entertainment for his fans regardless of the steep cost.
