Ghana Water Limited has officially issued a public apology to customers nationwide following temporary water supply disruptions triggered by an unexpected national power failure.
According to a press statement released on Wednesday July 29, the operational setback stems directly from major technical challenges on the National Interconnected Transmission System managed by GRIDCo. The nationwide power outage shut down electricity to several critical water treatment plants and pumping stations across the country.
Management explained that most water production facilities rely heavily on stable high voltage electricity to process and pump clean water to residential areas. Without consistent power, treatment plants cannot operate at capacity, forcing temporary supply holds in multiple communities.
Ghana Water Limited reassured affected citizens that specialized technical teams are currently on standby. Engineers will immediately reboot processing plants and resume distribution once power grid operators restore stable electricity.

The company confirmed active collaboration with key energy sector institutions to resolve operational delays as quickly as possible. Officials urged the public to remain patient while engineers work behind the scenes to restore full utility services nationwide.
